We had an amazing time. If you were there, here’s how you ended up exhausted. If you weren’t, here’s what you missed!
Innovate Suffolk aims to bring together technology and startup talent across the county in an open inclusive way. Through events and networking we’re looking to connect people, communities and resources to solve real-world problems, build long-term, viable collaborations and nurture scalable businesses across the county.
Our first event was a 48 hour startup hackathon focused on mental health. Bringing together diverse skills and experiences, we helped create and develop real-world solutions to make a difference. Everyone was welcome – we had developers, creatives, business people and enthusiastic people with knowledge of mental health issues. Some came with ideas, some thought up ideas on the night, and four teams made it to final judging. You can see more in the posts below.
Attendees worked together, pitching ideas, forming teams and creating projects, supported by experienced mentors, judges and sponsors.
The aim was to create, test and refine viable, real-world solutions to improve mental health. The winning team not only took away a cash prize, but generous sponsors have offered support to complete building and promoting the app they pitched. See the full schedule.

Here in Suffolk, you’ll often hear people say, “You can’t do that. You can’t do that here. This isn’t London. This isn’t Cambridge. This is Suffolk.”
We reached out to the amazing Seth Godin to ask how he’d respond, and he sent us this video. You can find out more about Seth here or listen to his podcast, Akimbo.
