About the Event

Innovate Suffolk is a place to turn ideas into businesses, faster than you’ve ever dreamed

Innovate Suffolk aims to bring together technology and startup talent across the county in an open inclusive way. Through events and networking we’re looking to connect people, communities and resources to solve real-world problems, build long-term, viable collaborations and nurture scalable businesses across the county.

Our first event is a 48 hour startup hackathon focused on mental health. Bringing together diverse skills and experiences the aim is to create and develop real-world solutions that make a difference. Everyone is welcome – we’re looking for developers, creatives, business people and enthusiastic people with knowledge of mental health issues. Come along with your idea, ready to pitch!

Tickets cost £45, including all meals listed on the schedule and tea, coffee and water throughout the event. Some assisted places at a reduced price are available due to sponsor support, so if you would like to attend the weekend but cannot afford the full price, please call our office 01473 397374 to discuss. The budget for assisted places is limited and applications will be assessed case-by-case.

A prize of £500 will be awarded to the winning team – see this post for more

24-26 May 2019

How does the event work?

Attendees will work together, pitching ideas, forming teams and creating projects, supported by experienced mentors, judges and sponsors.

The aim is to create, test and refine viable, real-world solutions to improve mental health. These can then be further developed, trialled and applied through the support of Innovate Suffolk and its partners. See full schedule

Seth Godin says, "Hello Suffolk."

Here in Suffolk, you’ll often hear people say, “You can’t do that. You can’t do that here. This isn’t London. This isn’t Cambridge. This is Suffolk.”

We reached out to the amazing Seth Godin to ask how he’d respond, and he sent us this video. You can find out more about Seth here or listen to his podcast, Akimbo.
